Legislative Update
We are starting to receive bill titles for the 2026 Legislative session. Like last year, the NHPS is working closely with the Dupont group and NH medical society to identify important bills to support and oppose. Keep your eyes out for emails requesting calls to action on legislative items that need more support. If you would like to get involved with the advocacy efforts of the NHPS, please reach out to Catrina Watson at Catrina.Watson@nhms.org. The legislative committee meets regularly during the legislative season to discuss what bills we plan to take action on as a society.
NHPS Regular Business Meetings
Mark your calendar for the upcoming NHPS Regular Business meetings. These are held the first Wednesday of the month at 6pm and meet every other month. The next meeting will be Wednesday, January 7th at 6pm. The Zoom link will be emailed to you closer to the date. All members are welcome to join.

2025 Annual Cruise
We had wonderful company and weather for the annual Cruise, held in the beautiful town of Portsmouth. NHPS members from all over the state joined on a sunny, fall day. Next fall the cruise will return to the Sunapee, NH area. We hope you will join!
2025 Advocacy Day
We had a great turn out for our annual advocacy day, with a number of PGY4 Dartmouth and Portsmouth psychiatry residents joining, as well as fellows from the Dartmouth Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship and Leadership and Preventative Medicine Residency Program. Several Dartmouth Hitchcock attending psychiatrists also joined. New Futures led a fun and educational day that included a legislative breakfast, several sessions about the legislative process and ways to effectively advocate, and a tour of the New Hampshire State House. Attendees also had the opportunity to interact with several legislators, including Senator Sue Prentiss, Senator Tim McGough, and Representative David Nagel. We look forward already to next year’s Advocacy Day.
